Ten hooks, because four are never enough for a family

The number of hooks is the key factor in whether a coat rack works. With three or four hooks, half the coats in a family end up on a chair. That’s why this wooden coat rack comes in five widths, with the largest offering ten hooks across 66 cm: enough for the coats, scarves and bags of an entire family. Choosing the right width

Allow about six to seven centimetres per hook if you want to hang winter coats side by side without squeezing them together; with ten hooks across 66 cm, in practice you can hang six thick coats plus a couple of bags. Measure the available wall space before choosing, and bear the keyhole slots in mind: the screws must be positioned at exactly the right distance, so mark their positions with the coat rack held against the wall. The manufacturer’s note is relevant here - use fixings suited to your wall type, because a coat rack full of ten coats puts considerable strain on the mounting. Hang it at shoulder height so even longer coats stay clear of the floor.
